Cardiologist Dragana Mandic said that she examined indictee Kornjaca at a hospital in Foca in December last year and that she determined that his health condition was such that he was capable of following the trial.

Mandic said that Kornjaca was under “a moderately high” level of cardiogenic risk, proposing that a heart scintigraphy and arthrography be performed on him.

Kornjaca, former Commander of the “Plavi orlovi” (“Blue Eagles”) paramilitary unit, is on trial for the persecution of Bosniaks from the Cajnice area, including the murder of 28 civilians at Mostina in May 1992.

Trial Chamber Chairman Darko Samardzic said that, considering the fact that it was determined that the indictee was capable of following the trial, the trial would continue with indictee’s testimony in his defence.

The trial is due to continue on February 27.
