In a written submission to the Court, Karadzic stated that he wants to examine the witnesses about the “undiscovered evidence”, because he thinks that The Hague Prosecution has “violated the obligation of disclosure of evidences”. Accordingly, Karadzic has demanded for witnesses to be recalled in order to examine them about the evidence he now has.

Karadzic called the ICTY to give him support because he claims that similar things happened in earlier trials. The indictee has stated a few examples of former indictees of The Hague Tribunal, including Radoslav Brdjanin, where the Trial Chamber decided that “if the information is not submitted in timely manner, the indictee should be allowed to withdraw the Prosecution witnesses, who have already testified”.

The names of witnesses and the circumstances in which they testified are given in addition to the document submitted to The Hague Tribunal. Some of the witnesses for whom the additional cross-examination has been requested, testified about the events in Vogosca and Zvornik.

Karadzic, former President of Republika Srpska and supreme Commander of its armed forces, is charged with genocide in Srebrenica and in seven other municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, persecution throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as terror against civilians in Sarajevo and taking UN soldiers hostage in the period from 1992 to 1995.

The Hague Tribunal sentenced Radoslav Brdjanin to 30 years of imprisonment for crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2007.
