The Bosnian state prosecution decided to give up on the examination of the additional witness after he failed to appear at today’s hearing.

State prosecutor Seid Marusic explained that the witness was in poor health, but he promised he would come.

“However, as we can see, the witness has not appeared. The prosecution definitely gives up on the examination of this witness and declares the presentation of its evidence completed,” Marusic said.

The state prosecution completed its presentation of evidence at the trial of Jovan Popovic. Popovic has been charged with taking a few civilians in the village of Rodica Brdo to the Visegrad police station in mid-June 1992. The civilians went missing without trace since then. Popovic was allegedly with a group of soldiers led by Milan Lukic.

The indictment also charges him with pillaging houses in several villages in the Visegrad area.

The trial will continue on March 16.
