Decision on Lipovac’s Guilt Admission Agreement Next Week

Lipovac, a former member of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO), has been charged with murders and other crimes committed against the Serb population in the Derventa area in 1992. He reached a guilt admission agreement with the state prosecution in December 2015, but the chamber postponed its decision, suggesting that both parties propose a longer prison sentence.
On Monday, February 8, appeals against a verdict handed down in the Vitomir Rackovic case will be presented. In May 2015, Rackovic was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the rape, unlawful arrest, interrogation and assault of Bosniak civilians from villages in the Visegrad area.
On the same day, a pretrial status conference will be held in the case of Dragoje Zmijanjac, charged with crimes against humanity committed in the Prijedor area during the summer of 1992.
The first state prosecution witness at the trial of Almaz Nezirovic is expected to appear in court next week. Nezirovic has been charged with war crimes against Serb civilians in the Derventa and Bosanski Brod area.
On Thursday, February 11, the first witnesses are expected to testify in defense of Dragan Marjanovic, charged with crimes committed in Teslic in 1992. Marjanovic, Dario Slavuljica, Sasa Gavranovic, Vitomir Devic, Zoran Sljuka and Dragomir Kezunovic have been charged with the murder of 28 civilians.
On the same day, the defense of Nihad Bojadzic, will continue presenting its closing statement. Bojadzic has been charged with crimes in Jablanica in 1993.
Trials for crimes in Srebrenica, Bihac, Visegrad, Bileca, Sanski Most, Trnovo, Rogatica, Srebrenik, Prijedor, Livno, Odzak, Mostar, Derventa, Bosanski Brod, Capljina, Kalinovik, Jablanica, Zavidovici, Teslic, Strpci, Cajnice and Prozor are scheduled to continue next week as well.
