“This success fulfills the promise given by chief prosecutor Goran Salihovic, that all of the cases from the Hague will be completed by the end of the year,” the state prosecution said.

During his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina in October 2015, Serge Brammertz, the chief prosecutor at the Hague Tribunal, said he would submit a negative report to the United Nations if all the cases transferred from the tribunal weren’t completed by the end of the year.

The state prosecution said this was their most successful year with regards to war crime cases, with 59 indictments against 135 individuals.

“The high quality of our work is made evident by the fact that we’ve completed the cases transferred from the Hague and data indicates that in 80 percent of such cases we have convictions,” the state prosecution said.
