Zmijanjac has been charged with abducting the civilian from a house in July 1992. He allegedly killed him and left his body lying on a road.

According to the state prosecution, Zmijanjac then threatened the victim’s family members, who were taken to the Trnopolje detention camp. At the camp, they were subjected to severe torture and abuse before being deported from the Prijedor area.

The indictment has been filed with the state court for confirmation.

Zmijanjac was arrested on December 23, 2015. He has been allowed to defend himself at liberty under prohibitive measures.

The state prosecution has also filed a request to extend the prohibitive measures against Zmijanjac, banning him from leaving his place of residence and meeting certain individuals.
