Former Bosnian Serb Army soldiers Ilija Vukasinovic, Radomir Markovic, Mile Kusic, Dragan Bozovic, Sasa Perkovic, Radomir Gluhovic, Pero Radovic and Milos Vukasinovic have been charged with searching and pillaging houses in the villages of Karacici, Vragolovi and Golubovici on September 18, 1992. Markovic was the commander of the Socicka Company of the Rogaticka Brigade of the Bosnian Serb Army, while the other defendants were members of that unit.

State prosecution witness Hasiba Pasic testified at today’s hearing. Pasic said she, her family and other Bosniaks were sheltered in her basement. She said three Serb soldiers discovered them and approached the basement. She said one of them was Ilija Vukasinovic, who she knew from before the war.

She said he ordered her to exit the basement with her children. She said he threatened to throw a bomb into the basement if they didn’t obey. She said more Serb soldiers came later.

Prosecutor Dika Omerovic said she was examining Pasic in order to demonstrate that there was a widespread and systematic attack on Rogatica.

Pasic said that they were taken to Stjenice, where the men were separated from the women and children. She said she was separated from her husband, whose remains were found later.

“There were about 80 women and children, and 40 to 50 men…The men remained in front of the school, and we went behind the school…I heard people calling for help, screams, the massacring of people,” Pasic said.
Pasic said a soldier named Zoran Kusic ordered the women to give him their gold. He said he threatened to kill the youngest child among them if they didn’t.

“After six hours, the bursts of gunfire began…They told us to enter the school. The blood in front of the school was washed away…Everyone recognized the voice of their own, it was sad, the big scream,” Pasic said. She said the men who were killed in front of the school, including her husband, had their bodies taken away.

Pasic said the remains of the other victims have not been found.

The trial will continue on October 20.
