Indictment for Assault of Public Servant Confirmed

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed an indictment against Zemir Kovacevic, who is charged with assaulting a public servant. Kovacevic was previously sentenced under a first instance verdict for war crimes in the Bosanski Brod area.

Kovacevic has been charged with attacking public servant Zorinko Vidovic in a police room in the beginning of September 2014. Vidovic suffered light injuries as a result.

In May 2014, the Bosnian state court sentenced Zemir Kovacevic to ten years in prison for having participated in the murder, mistreatment, and theft of Serb civilians in the Sijekovac area, in the municipality of Bosanski Brod, in March and April 1992.

The Bosnian state prosecution and Kovacevic’s defense presented their appeals against the verdict which was handed down on January 2015.
