On Monday the state prosecution presented several pieces of material evidence, including a verified signature from a book of military servicemen.
The defense objected as to the authenticity and relevance of certain portions of the new evidence, and said it would comment during its closing arguments.
The trial chamber said it would accept only some of the evidence as documents.
After the state prosecution finished presenting its evidence, a status conference was held in order for Lalicic’s defense to share their course of action for the trial. Sabina Mehic, Lalicic’s defense attorney, said she would call on five witnesses.
She said that her list of witnesses might be reduced, and that she didn’t have any material evidence to present.
Lalicic has been charged with the rape and sexual abuse of a woman in 1992 and 1993, and with the physical and mental abuse of a detained victim.
According to the indictment, at the time Lalicic was a member of the Bosnian Army First Corps and a guard at a camp located in a residential building in Hrasnica, near Ilidza.
The date for the defense’s presentation of evidence will be set at a later date.
