Correct behavior of the indictee Mujcinovic

Mujcinovic, former commander of the Police Station in Stupari (municipality of Kladanj), confirmed that he issued orders for taking to custody the persons of Serb nationality who were located in the teacher’s buildings in Stupari for interrogation.

He added that he conducted interrogations correctly and professionally, as well as that he never saw that any of police officers “used force” during interrogations.

According to the indictment, Serb civilians from Stupari and surrounding villages were unlawfully detained in the teacher’s buildings in May and June 1992.

Mujcinovic also denied that was in the villages of Rujica and Prijanovici in May and June 1992, from which Serb civilians were unlawfully detained. As he said, he was only in the village of Lupoglava, when the persons of Serb nationality were taken to teacher’s buildings.

According to Mujcinovic, along with him and several police officers, members of the Territorial Defence (TO) and the military police, as well as the indictee Zijad Hamzic were also in Lupoglava in early June 1992. According to the indictment, Zijad Hamzic was commander of TO Stupari at that time. He said that Hamzic had a list of persons of Serb nationality who possessed weapons.

“Zijad Hamzić told them to surrender their weapons. They began to deny”, recalled the indictee, adding that Hamzic then called few people from the list to bring their weapons, and they did so.

Mujcinovic said that Hamzic issued an order by which persons of Serb nationality must climb on the trucks and be transported to teacher’s buildings after they answered him that they don’t feel safe in the village.

“They didn’t express dissatisfaction with the order”, said the indictee.

Mujcinovic added that persons of Serb nationality, to whom the police established illegal possession of weapons, were transferred to Tuzla for further processing.

“The police have done it acting on order made by the District Military Court”, he added.

Together with Mujcinovic and Hamzic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Osman Gogic and Kahro Vejzovic, former members of the civilian and military police, are also on trial for crimes committed in Kladanj area.

All of them are charged of illegal detention of Serb civilians, as well as for beating and inhuman treatment of detainees.

Mujcinovic will continue his testimony on April 3.
