Lejla Covic, Defence attorney of indictee Kameric, included, in the case file, documentation by military police from Bosanski Brod and the 101st Bosanski Brod Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, and explained that, by including those pieces of evidence, she intended to deny that the indictee was a member of those units.

Covic said that the Defence intended to examine one more witness and that the examination would be conducted via video link, considering the fact that the witness lived abroad.

Trial Chamber Chairman Saban Maksumic said that it was still not known when the date of the witness’ testimony would be set.

Defence attorney Covic announced that, in case the parties would have to wait for the witness’ testimony for too long, the Defence might give up on inviting him to testify.

Kameric, a former member of the 101st Bosanski Brod Brigade, is charged with having participated in the torture of Serb and Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war in police premises and at the “Polet” stadium in Bosanski Brod from April to October 1992.

The trial continuation date will be set at a later stage.
