In its announcement, the State Prosecution said that Marjanovic was charged with having raped a Bosniak victim.

“He is charged with having come to a building in Caparde, where Bosniak women, who had been deported from the Brcko area, were unlawfully detained, on June 21 and 22, 1992. He then committed rape and sexual abuse in an extremely brutal way using force and threats,” the announcement alleges.

It is alleged that Marjanovic was a member of the Bircanska Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, at that time. The unit was known as the “Sekovacka Guard”.

The indictment has been filed with the Court of BiH.

Marjanovic was arrested last week.
