The Prosecution of BiH is still due to examine one more witness via video link from the United States, but, considering the fact that it is not known when it will happen, the Trial Chamber decided that the Defence should begin presenting its evidence.

The Trial Chamber told the Defence attorneys to submit their evidence presentation plans in writing by December 19, so the plans could be discussed at the next hearing scheduled for December 26.

The Defence has already announced that the sequence of evidence presentation will be changed, meaning that it will not begin with indictee Safet Mujcinovic.

Mujcinovic’s Defence attorney Emir Suljagic said that there was a possibility that one of the Defence teams would examine a witness regarding general circumstances, adding that the indictees would testify after that.

“Each Defence will then present its own evidence,” he announced.

Mujcinovic is on trial, along with Selman Busnov, Zijad Hamzic, Nusret Muhic, Ramiz Halilovic, Osman Gogic, Nedzad Hodzic and Kahro Vejzovic, former members of civil and military police as well as the Territorial Defence, for having committed crimes in the Kladanj area.

They are charged with the unlawful detention of Serb civilians in the educational workers’ building in Stupari, as well as beating and treating those people in an inhumane manner.
