Trial for Crimes in Prijedor Begins Next Week

The trial of Mitar and Rade Vlasenko, as well as Drago Koncar, for crimes in Prijedor in 1992, is due to begin next week with reading of the indictment and presentation of introductory statement before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The beginning of the trial of the three former members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, who are charged with the persecution of non-Serb population, is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3.
 
Appeals against a second instance verdict against Ratko Dronjak ae due to be presented before the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH on Monday. The Constitutional Court of BiH partially quashed the mentioned verdict due to wrong application of the criminal code. The Appellate Chamber sentenced Dronjak to 18 years in prison for having committed crimes in Drvar.
 
Appeals against first instance verdicts for crimes in Carakovo village, near Prijedor, and crimes in Trusina, near Konjic, are due to be presented before the Appellate Chamber next week.
 
The appeals against the first instance verdict, under which Dragomir Soldat, Velemir Djuric and Zoran Babic were sentenced to 21 years in prison each for having committed crimes in Carakovo village, are due to be presented on Wednesday, December 3. One day later, on Thursday the parties are due to present their appeals against the verdict, under which Edin Dzeko was sentenced to 12 years in prison for crimes committed in Trusina in 1993.
 
Novak Mitrovic and Dragan Glogovac, who are charged with crimes in the Zavidovici area, are due to enter their pleas on Friday.
 
On Tuesday, December 2 the first State Prosecution witness is due to be examined at the trial of Ekrem Ibracevic, Faruk Smajlovic and Sejdalija Covic, who are charged with crimes in the Srebrenik area.
 
On Wednesday the first Defence witnesses are due to be examined at the trial for crimes in Kalinovik, which are charged upon Marinko and Zoran Bjelica, as well as Novica Tripkovic.
 
Three trials for genocide in Srebrenica are due to continue next week – the trial against Goran Saric continues on Monday, the one against Aleksandar Cvetkovic on Tuesday and Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic on Wednesday.
 
The trial of Sao Tepic, Dragoslav Bojic, Dusko Vujicic, Dusko Maksimovic, Radojko Keverovic, Rade Skoric and Ilija Kurusic, who are charged with crimes against Bosniaks and Croats in the Kotor-Varos area, is due to continue on Monday, December 1, just like the trial of Petar Kovacevic for crimes in Visegrad.
 
On that same day the trial is due to continue in the case against Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Senad Hakalovic, Nedzad Hodzic and Nihad Bojadzic, who are charged with crimes in Trusina.
 
The trial for multiple rapes committed in Odzak, which the Prosecution of BiH charges upon Marijan Brnjic, Martin Barukcic, as well as Pavo and Ilija Glavas, former members of the 102nd Brigade with the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, is due to continue on Tuesday.
 
The trials of Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic for crimes in Kotor–Varos, as well as Edib Buljubasic, Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic, are due to continue on Wednesday, while the trials of Ibro Macic for crimes in Konjic and Josip Tolic for crimes in Odzak and Bosanski Brod are due to continue on Friday.
 
The Defence of Vitomir Rackovic and Goran Popovic, who are on separate trials for crimes in Visegrad, are due to continue presenting evidence on Wednesday.
 
The trials of Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin for crimes on Mount Igman, Indira Kameric for crimes in Bosanski Brod, as well as Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember for crimes in Hadzici, are due to continue on Thursday.
 
The trials of Jasmin Coloman, who is charged with crimes in Vitez, as well as Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Zijad Hamzic, Nusret Muhic, Nedzad Hodzic, Osman Gogic, Ramiz Halilovic and Kahro Vejzovic, who are charged with crimes in Kladanj, are due to continue on Friday, December 5.
 
A State Prosecution’s motion regarding extension of prohibiting measures against Enes Curic, Ibrahim Demirovic, Samir Kreso, Habib Copelj and Mehmed Kaminic, who are charged with crimes in Mostar, is due to be considered at a hearing scheduled for Friday.  
 
Hearings in the case against Jozo Djojic, who is suspected of rape and sexual abuse in the Odzak area in 1992, as well as Milosav, Marijan and Slavko Jovanovic, who are suspected of crimes committed in Cajnice, at which procedural questions will be discussed are due to be held on Friday.
 
In the week ahead the retrials are due to continue in the case against Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic, who are charged with crimes in Krajina, and Savo Babic for crimes in Bratunac.
