“Honourable Court, I plead not guilty,” Djukic said.
 
According to the charges, Djukic, former reserve policeman with the Public Safety Station in Kotor-Varos and guard in a prison behind the Basic Court building, participated, together with other members of the Army and police, in murders, causing of bodily and mental pain and inhumane treatment of Croat and Bosniak civilians.
 
After the indictee entered his plea, judge Zeljka Marenic ordered the Defence to submit a written response on whether it wanted Djukic’s case to be referred to the regionally competent court, Once this has been done, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, will render a decision about it.  
 
The indictment was confirmed on October 1.
