According to the State Prosecution’s charges, the former members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, participated in the persecution of the Bosniak and Croat population from the Prijedor area from May to June 1992.

The indictment alleges that men were unlawfully detained in the Trnopolje, Omarska and Keraterm detention camps, while women, children and the elderly were forcibly expelled from the Prijedor area.

Mitar and Rade Vlasenko, and Koncar are also charged with having committed murders in the area of Kozarac, near Prijedor.

The Court of BiH confirmed the indictment on August 27 this year. Prohibiting measures were ordered against the indictees.

The trial is due to begin within the next two, or, possibly, three months.
