“The invention of this prosecution is a joint criminal enterprise. If it wasn’t for that, there would no be indictment. Why should I be guilty beyond a joint criminal enterprise, only because I did good for the Serbs and other two peoples,” said Karadzic, who is charged with genocide and other crimes in Bosnia.According to his words, The Hague prosecution charges every Serb, and it did not even indicate who founded the joint criminal enterprise.”The Prosecution characterised me as thief and criminal. I will not use that kind of language, and I am certain that it was difficult for prosecutor Alan Tieger to do that, since he has no single piece of evidence,” said Karadzic. He said that the Prosecution spoke evil of the Serbian fight for equality, while for the other two sides “honesty flourished” and “a secret union against Bosnian Serbs was founded”.”They don’t mention Islamic declaration, as if there was no Patriotic League and Council for Muslim defence. The prosecution neglects Serbian willingness for compromise. The international community betrayed Serbs, Muslims had an opportunity to choose western Muslims, and they chose war,” Karadzic said. Serbs, by his words, sought to protect only what they already had and they didn’t intend to impose their will on someone else. “They distort sentences, and my defence is not to accuse anyone but to establish what happened. The civil war happened. I ask the Council to verify everything that the prosecution says,” Karadzic said. The defendant will present his closing statements for two days.
