“According to the Prosecution’s assessment, there is a danger that he might influence key witnesses, who live in the same town as the suspect,” Prosecutor Vedrana Mijovic said.

Defence attorney Refik Arnautovic said that the Prosecution should concretise the reasons for the mentioned circumstances.

“If my client influenced some witnesses during the investigation so far, it would be documented,” Arnautovic said.

Also, he said that the Defence had received 22 witnesses’ statements along with the prohibiting measures motion and that it considered that there was no grounded suspicion that Turajlic committed the crime.

Turajlic, former member of the Territorial Defence, was arrested four days ago due to a suspicion that he killed a captured member of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, in the Pocitelj area in June 1992.
