Retrial of Goran Saric Begins Next Week

The retrial of Goran Saric, who is charged with crimes committed in Nahorevo neighbourhood, Sarajevo, is due to begin before the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH on Tuesday, September 23.

Under the first instance verdict, Saric was sentenced to 14 years in prison for having participated in the separation of men, who were detained in Jagomir hospital. A group of the prisoners was sent to the territory controlled by the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, another group was sent to detention camps in Vogosca, while the third group was left at that location. Their bodies were found at Skakavac locality later on. In June this year the Appellate Chamber revoked this verdict and ordered a retrial.
 
Sefik Alic, whose execution of sentence was discontinued due to wrong application of the law, is due to appear before the Court of BiH on Monday, September 22. In 2011 Alic was sentenced to ten years in prison for crimes against members of the Serbian Krajina Army.
 
On Wednesday, September 24 Muhamed Sicic, Tarik Sisic, Emir Drakovac and Aziz Susa are due to enter their pleas to the charges that they committed crimes against Serb civilians in Rogatica and Foca in 1992.  
 
Hearings in the case against Hasan Icanovic, who is suspected of crimes in the Velika Kladusa area, and Gligor Begovic for crimes in the Bijeljina area, are scheduled for Monday and Thursday, September 25.
 
The trial of Dragan Sekaric for crimes in Visegrad and Gorazde is due to continue on Monday, while the trials of Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian-Nicolae Vintila for crimes in Sarajevo, and Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic for crimes in Kotor-Varos municipality are due to continue one day later.
 
The trial of Hariz Habibovic, who is charged with crimes in Kladanj, continues on Wednesday with examination of a medical court expert. On that same day the trials are due to continue in the case against Goran Popovic for crimes in Visegrad, as well as Marinko and Zoran Bjelica and Novica Tripkovic for crimes in Kalinovik.
 
The trials for genocide in Srebrenica are due to continue in the week ahead. The trial of Goran Saric is scheduled for Monday, Aleksandar Cvetkovic for Tuesday and Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic for Wednesday.
 
The continuation of the trials of Nikola Maric for crimes in Prozor, Indira Kameric for crimes in Bosanski Brod, Nihad Bojadzic, who is charged with crimes in Jablanica, as well as Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin for crimes on Mount Igman is scheduled for Thursday.
 
On that same day the Court scheduled a hearing in the case against Marijan Brnjic, Martin Barukcic, as well as Pavo and Ilija Glavas, who are charged with crimes against Serb civilians in the Odzak area.
 
The trials of Jasmin Coloman, who is charged with crimes in the Vitez area, and Ibro Macic for crimes in Konjic are due to continue on Friday with examination of a new Prosecution witness.
 
In the week ahead retrials are due to continue before the Appellate Camber in the case against Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic, who are charged with crimes in Krajina, and Goran Saric for crimes in the Sarajevo area.
