Verdict against Branko Vlaco Due Next Week

Vlaco, former manager of the “Planjina Kuca”,“Bunker”,“Kod Sonje” and “Nakina Garaza” detention camps, is charged with having established a system for punishment of detained civilians. Detainees were abused, forced to perform hard labour and used as human shields. Many of them were killed at those locations, while tens went missing. The pronouncement of the verdict is scheduled for Friday, July 4.
On Tuesday, July 1 a status conference is due to be held in the case against Abduladhim Maktouf. The Court of BiH enabled the renewal of the trial against Maktouf due to wrong application of law. In 2006 Maktouf was sentenced, under a second instance verdict, to five years in prison for having committed arrests, detention and kidnapping of five Croat civilians in the Travnik area. One more hearing in Maktouf’s case is scheduled for Friday.
Trial for crimes in Trusina village, near Konjic, continues on Monday, June 30 with examination of Nihad Bojadzic’s defence witnesses. Bojadzic is on trial along with Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Nedzad Hodzic and Senad Hakalovic.
The trial for crimes against Serb detainees in Dretelj, near Capljina, continues on Tuesday with examination of Edib Buljubasic’s Defence witnesses. These crimes are charged upon Buljubasic, Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic.
On that same day the trial is due to continue in the case covering crimes in former “Viktor Bubanj” military barracks, which are charged upon Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian-Nicolae Vintila. On Wednesday, July 2 the trial is due to continue in the case against Marinko and Zoran Bjelica and Novica Tripkovic for crimes in Kalinovik.
On Wednesday the Prosecution of BiH will continue presenting its evidence at the trial of Vitomir Rackovic, who is charged with crimes in Visegrad, by examining a court expert in neurology and psychiatry.
Two trials for genocide in Srebrenica are due to continue next week – the trial of Goran Saric continues on Monday, while Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic are due to appear in court on Wednesday.
The continuation of the trials of Nihad Bojadzic, who is charged with crimes in Jablanica, as well as Indira Kameric for crimes in Bosanski Brod, is scheduled for Thursday, July 3. The trial of Nikola Maric, who is charged with murders and torture of Bosniaks in Prozor, continues that same day with the examination of three Prosecution witnesses.
The trial of Dzevad Salcin and Nedzad Hodzic for crimes on Mount Igman continues on Tuesday and Thursday, while the continuation of the trial of Ibro Macic, who is charged with crimes in Konjic, is scheduled for Friday.
The trial of Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember, who are charged with crimes in Hadzici, is due to continue on Thursday.
The trials of Vehid Subotic for crimes in the Zenica area and Josip Tolic, who is charged with crimes in Odzak and Bosanski Brod, are due to continue on Friday.
On that same day the trial is due to continue in the case against Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic, Kahro Vejzovic and Osman Gogic, who are charged with crimes in Kladanj.
The retrial of Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic, who are charged with crimes in Krajina, is due to continue before the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH next week.
