The documentary, called “Missing you…”, depicts the suffering and reality facing people who lost family members during both times of peace and war.

Fikret Bacic has been searching 22 years for the remains of his two children and wife, who were shot in Prijedor.

“They stayed in front of the house, watching me leave. Nermin was born in 1979 and Nermina in 1986. They were standing in front of the house, watching me leave. I never saw them again. This image of them is still in my memory. It will never fade,” Bacic said.

Blazenka Djumic, who has been trying to find her daughter for four years, is suffering too.

They are among many of those, who are still living in hope.

“We waited and waited…But they did not come,” says Bajro Osmic, whose two sons were killed in Srebrenica.

The film offers a detailed account of the search for the missing persons, the key actors and their roles in this process, as well as the DNA analysis process. The fate of the persons, who went missing during the war and peace, is the same. The documentary describes how to alleviate the suffering of people who are searching for their family members, both at the regional and international level.

Following the screening of the film, BIRN and the International Commission for the Search for the Missing Persons, ICMP, of BiH will organize a panel discussion about the importance of finding missing persons.
