Nihad’s Threats

In the trial for crimes in Jablanica, a BiH Prosecution witness recalled threats Nihad Bojadzic made to detainees.

Witness Mile Ravlic said that the detainees were taken from the Battle of Neretva Museum to labour on Boksevica mountain in June 1993 where he met Bojadzic. According to him, he was ordered by the accused to collect rubbish from the table.”Nihad said: ‘Kill Ustasha!’, and the soldier replied that he would as soon as he completed his task,” the witness recalled.He stated that he heard from soldier in Boksevica that it was “Zuko’s deputy”.Ravlic stated that he was taken with others to the museum on 12 May 1993, where they were detained on basement premises. He recalled an occasion when the accused came to the museum and lectured them, threatening to kill detainee Makso.Bojadzic, a former deputy commander of the “Zulfikar” detachment of BiH Army (ABiH), was charged with having beaten up, sexually mistreated and raped Croat detainees in “The Battle of Neretva” Museum.Protected witness L also testified in the trial. He was also taken from the museum to forced labor in Boksevica. He stated that the accused Bojadzic ordered the soldiers to have the detainees bring the water and food to soldiers in front lines, which they obeyed. The witness also recalled Bojadzic’s lecture in the museum, explaining that the guards took them out into a corridor telling them: “Now you will receive a lecture from Nihad.” He added that he subsequently learned his family name.”He mentioned having reached Siroki, Ljubuski to liberate everyone”, the witness stated.He also stated that Bojadzic addressed detainee Makso telling him that “such people are the worst kind, the combination of Ustasha and Chetnik”. The witness clarified that the person in question was a Serb who was a member of the Croat Defence Council (HVO).The witness also recalled the conversation with Marko who personally told him that ” Nihad shot him in the leg”, for which he receives regular treatment in Jablica Health Centre. The trial will continue on 4 April.
