An official note and statement, which witness Joco Serdar gave in 1993 during an investigation into the crime in Serdari village, was presented as well.

“Joco Serdar did not mention Sead Menzil at all during the examination,” Defence attorney Adil Draganovic said.

The Defence also prepared video recordings of the events that happened in Serdari.

“By presenting this piece of evidence we prove that, during 1992 combats were conducted in the area of the Vrbanjci local community to which Serdari village belonged,” Draganovic said.

In addition, the third indictee’s Defence presented a topographic map of Serdari village and its surroundings, depicting the conflict between Serb and Bosniak forces.

Menzil is on trial, along with Fikret Planincic, Rasim Lisancic and Mirsad Vatrac, for having participated in an attack on Serdari on September 17, 1992, when 16 Serb civilians were killed.

According to the State Prosecution’s charges, the indictees were members of the Territorial Defence at that time.

The trial is due to continue on March 12, when a court expert in military issues is supposed to present his findings as per a request by Menzil’s Defence.
