As previously announced by the Prosecution, a protected witness, whose identity was protected by the pseudonym of RM-088, was due to testify at this hearing. Closed sessions represent the highest level of witness identity protection at trials held before The Hague Tribunal.

Up to now prosecutors have dedicated the most part of the presentation of evidence to proving the parts of the indictment, charging Mladic with terror against civilians in Sarajevo implemented by long-lasting shelling and sniping and persecution of Muslims and Croats throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, which reached the scale of genocide in seven municipalities.

In addition, General Mladic is charged with genocide in Srebrenica and taking UNPROFOR members hostage.

The trial is due to continue tomorrow.
