The Defence of indictee Kos presented more than 40 pieces of material evidence, mostly related to the establishment, functioning and activities conducted by the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad during the Srebrenica happenings in 1995.

Dusko Tomic, Defence attorney of Kos, presented a document, which, as he said, was found in the house of Milorad Pelemis, former Commander of that Squad.

“This document shows that orders could not be refused and that there was one member of the Squad, who took care of the other members. As we can conclude, Brane Gojkovic performed the function on Branjevo. On the basis of this document, we can see who the company commanders were. Also, we can see all of the operations conducted by the Squad. This document was recently used in a TV show, when Pelemis was interviewed,” Defence attorney Tomic said.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Kos, Stanko Kojic, Vlastimir Golijan and Zoran Goronja with the murder of more than 800 men and boys on Branjevo military farm in Pilica, Zvornik municipality, in July 1995.

The indictment alleges that Kos was Commander of a unit, while Kojic, Golijan and Goronja were members of the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad with the Main Headquarters of VRS.

The Defence presented several documents in order to prove, as it said, that some activities were undertaken after the war in order to hide the truth about the Srebrenica events of July 1995.

“We are presenting a document issued by the Serbian State Security about activities of members of the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad and new commander, who continued hiding the truth about Srebrenica,” Defence attorney Tomic said.

Also, the Defence of Kos presented a document about footage from Srebrenica, which was prepared by the State Security of the Republic of Serbia. The Defence said that, on the basis of the document, one “could see who gave the orders to make the recordings and what was recorded”.

In addition, the Defence presented photographs of mass graves and execution locations in the Srebrenica area taken in the period from July 5 to 17, 1995.

The Defence of Kojic, Golijan and Goronja will respond to the evidence presented by the Defence of the first indictee at the next hearing.

The Trial Chamber removed indictee Kojic from the courtroom, because he swore at attorney Tomic.

The next hearing is due to be held on April 17 this year, when indictee Kojic will be examined. S.U.
