The State Investigation and Protection Agency has arrested Goran Markovic, on suspicion that he participated in the genocide committed in Srebrenica in July 1995. The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina suspects that Markovic, as Commander of a Unit with the "Jahorina" Squad of the Special Police Brigade with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, participated in the genocide committed in the UN protected zone of Srebrenica in July 1995.

After it has examined the suspect, the Prosecution will decide whether to file a custody order motion.

Former policemen Dusko Jevic, known as Staljin, Mendeljev Djuric, known as Mane, and Zoran Ilic, who are suspected of genocide committed in Srebrenica, have been in custody since the end of October.

The Prosecution considers that at the time Jevic was Assistant Commander for Operational-educational affairs and Director of the Police Training Center on Mount Jahorina, Mendeljev was Commander of the First Squad at the same Center and Ilic was a member of a unit with the Training Center.

The Prosecution suspects that the three men participated in the separation of male Srebrenica residents, capable of serving in the military, who were then shot at various locations.
