The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has postponed the trial of Ljubo Tomic and Krsto Josic because two Prosecution witnesses failed to appear in court. The witnesses will be brought to the next hearing, scheduled for October 12.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Tomic and Josic, as members of the former Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Army, with killing three Bosniak civilians, using firearms, in Marhosi forest in Kozluk, in Zvornik Municipality, on June 26, 1992.

Witnesses Agan Ibrahimovic and Serif Islamovic were supposed to be brought to this hearing, since they had previously said they were not able to appear in court due to poor health and lack of financial resources.

“We have received an official note from the Court Police informing us they were not able to apprehend the witnesses, because they lacked correct personal data, such as their dates of birth and so on. The note indicates that the witnesses were not present at the addresses provided by the Court. Those may have been fictitious addresses,” Trial Chamber Chairwoman Vesna Jasenkovic said.

Jasenkovic asked the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina to contact the witnesses and provide the Court with their addresses in order for the Court to issue an order for them to be brought to the next hearing.
