Following a State Court decision, Nisvet Gasal, Musajb Kukavica, Enes Handzic and Senad Dautovic were released from custody on February 19. At the same time a number of prohibiting measures were ordered against them.
The State Prosecution charges Nisvet Gasal, Musajb Kukavica, Enes Handzic and Senad Dautovic with crimes committed against Bosnian Croats who were detained in garages and detention camps in Bugojno in the course of 1993 and 1994.
The indictees handed over their personal identification and travel documents to the Registrar’s Office with the State Court. They are banned from leaving their place of residence unless approved by the Court. The competent police stations in their places of residence will apprise the Court on this issue on a daily basis.
The Bugojno Four are banned from contacting witnesses, accessories or helpers, and from contacting each other.
“Gasal, Kukavica, Handzic and Dautovic are banned from attending social gatherings, both public and private. They are also banned from visiting any coffee shops or restaurants, or any other buildings in which social activities are taking place in Bugojno and Donji Vakuf municipalities,” the Court decision states.
If they breach any of the prohibiting measures contained in the decision, the indictees will be ordered back into custody.
Gasal and Kukavica were arrested in March 2007. Handzic and Dautovic were arrested one month later. They have been in custody since then. During this period, however, Gasal and Kukavica were released several times, but they were ordered back into custody each time.
