Gasal et al: Disturbed Witness
This post is also available in: Bosnian
Prosecutor Slavica Terzic asked for the postponement of the hearing at the trial of the four indictees charged with crimes committed against Bosnian Croats from Bugojno, due to the “obvious disturbance” of Prosecution witness Vinko Pavic.
The Trial Chamber approved the proposal, adding that one Chamber member had a “private engagement” to deal with, so the trial will continue at the previously determined date.
The State Prosecution charges Nisvet Gasal, Musajb Kukavica, Enes Handzic and Senad Dautovic with crimes committed against Bosnian Croats detained in garages and detention camps in Bugojno in 1993 and 1994.
Gasal and Kukavica are charged with responsibility for the functioning of “Iskra” detention camp, while Enes Handzic and Senad Dautovic, former members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are charged with participation in planning and implementing the capture of civilians in Bugojno.
Enes Handzic and Senad Dautovic were arrested on April 16, 2007. The State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA, arrested Nisvet Gasal and Musajb Kukavica in late March 2007.
According to the official schedule of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina the trial is due to continue on February 18, 2009.
