During his visit to the Bosnian capital, the Chief Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, ICTY, Serge Brammertz, has said that the regional cooperation must be improved.
The presidents of Serbia and Croatia backed a regional agreement on the prosecution of war crimes, but Bosnia did not sign the document as its tripartite presidency was unable to agree on it unanimously.
The Prosecutors Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that they would not sign a Protocol on Co-operation of War Crimes Cases with the Republic of Serbias Office of the War Crimes Prosecution, because the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina warned them that they are the only body which is competent to conclude international treaties.
Trucks transporting the remains of more than 750 victims of genocide committed in Srebrenica in July 1995 passed through the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina on their way to Potocari, where the victims will be buried on July 11.
