A State Prosecution witness says, at the trial for crimes committed in Grbavica in 1992, that indictee Veselin ‘Batko’ Vlahovic introduced him to a girl, who, as he told him, was his wife, and that he told him, ten days later, that he killed her at Zlatiste.

Appealing to the first instance verdict which sentenced Sasa Baricanin to 18 years of prison, Prosecution’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested from the Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to convict the defendant to a long-term prison sentence, while the Defence asked that the first instance verdict be quashed.

At the trial for crimes in Grbavica, Sarajevo Dusko Tomic, Defence attorney of indictee Sasa Baricanin refuses to examine a Prosecution expert witness because he failed to review “the entire file” when making his findings and opinion about a protected Prosecution witness.

Testifying at the trial of Sasa Baricanin, a State Prosecution witness says that in July 1992 he found out that Veselin 'Batko' Vlahovic took members of the Balvanovic family from their house in Grbavica, Sarajevo.

At a status conference before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Trial Chamber decided that the trial of Sasa Baricanin, who is charged with war crimes committed in the Grbavica district of Sarajevo, will begin on April 20. Following the reading of the indictment and the presentation of introductory arguments by the Prosecution and Defence, Prosecutor Behaija Krnjic announced that three witnesses who lived in Grbavica in 1992 would give their statements at the next hearing.
