Przuj, the former commander of a detention facility located in the Petar Kocic school building in the village of Cavarine, has been charged with participating in the persecution of Bosniak civilians. His alleged crimes included enforced disappearances, assault and other inhumane acts.

The state prosecution also alleges Przulj participated in the transfer of 39 detained Bosniak civilians from a school building in Sokolac to two premises located in a school in Cavarine in October 1992. The premises had no electricity or heat. The civilians were forced to sleep on the floor and used buckets for urinating and defecating.

“In March 1993 Przulj, in collaboration with a few other guards, participated in releasing six detained civilians under the pretense that they would be freed. He then handed them over to members of the military police of the Bosnian Serb Army, who drove them to an unknown location. They have been missing without a trace since,” the prosecution announced.

Przulj is defending himself while at liberty under prohibitive measures.
