The Bosnian state prosecution on Thursday charged Vlacic, a military policeman with the Bosnian Serb Army’s Bircanska Brigade, with taking three imprisoned civilians from cells at the Lovac restaurant in Sekovici, which was used as a temporarily detention facility, and assaulting them.

“The prisoners were physically weakened and exhausted due to earlier severe abuse, and after they were taken out, the defendant started beating them with his fists and kicking them, until the victims passed away as a result of those blows,” said the indictment.

According to the indictment, Vlacic then ordered another prisoner to take the bodies back to the cells and threatened him not to tell anyone what happened.

The Bosnian prosecution also charged Vlacic with beating and torturing another prisoner.

“He injured him with a knife and carved a cross on his forehead, which left permanent marks on the victim, and due to the injuries he suffered and the severe beatings, the prisoner could not walk for 20 days,” said the indictment, which has been forwarded to the Bosnian court for confirmation.
