The protocol will enable more efficient processing of war crimes perpetrators living in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, who are using dual citizenships to evade being criminally prosecuted.
“The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina is working on a number of cases, which cannot be processed at present because the suspects are in Croatia and have citizenship of that country,” the Prosecution said in its announcement.
The Protocol was signed by Chief Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina Goran Salihovic and Chief State
Prosecutor of Croatia, Mladen Bajic in the European Union Delegation premises in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Peter Sorensen, Special Representatives of the EU to Bosnia and Herzegovina, attended the signing ceremony.
A similar protocol was signed with Serbia on January 31, while another one will be signed with the Prosecution of Montenegro soon.
