The Trial Chamber of the Hague Tribunal originally intended to include, as evidence, previous statements given by protected witness KDZ-555 before the Tribunal.

However, since the witness indicated that his previous statements were not precise enough and did not reflect all the things he would like to say, the Trial Chamber decided to invite him to testify.

The Hague Tribunal’s indictment charges Karadzic with genocide, crimes against humanity and the violation of the laws and customs of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from 1992 to 1995.

The trial is due to continue on August 17, 2011.
