The Bosnian state prosecution obtained information that certain individuals were planning to kill an attorney who’s an important prosecution witness in a case involving war crimes committed in the Rogatica area.
M.K. was arrested in the Sokolac area on suspicion of interfering with the work of judiciary and inciting others to commit murder.
“Last night SIPA investigators searched buildings used by the suspect with the aim of finding and temporarily confiscating items that might be used as evidence in further proceedings. During the search certain objects which can be associated with the commission of crimes were found and temporarily confiscated,” SIPA announced.
The state prosecution could not give BIRN the name of the attorney whose murder was planned, but said the crime was prevented thanks to collaboration between the Sarajevo police and SIPA.
Following the suspect’s examination, the prosecution will decide whether to file a custody order motion.
