Bosnian Serb Ex-Fighter Charged With Bosniaks’ Killings
Former Bosnian Serb military police commander Nenad Bubalo was indicted for taking part in the killings of Bosniak men in Hrgar in the north-west of the country in 1992.
The Bosnian state prosecution raised an indictment on Friday charging Nenad Bubalo, a former commander of the military police with the 15th Bihac Brigade of the Bosnian Serb Army, with taking part in the killings and persecution of Bosniaks in June and July 1992.

“Bubalo is charged with taking at least five Bosniak civilians from the Ljutocka valley who were detained in the IMT Tractor Service camp in Ripac and killing them in [the village of] Hrgar, together with other members of the military police,” the indictment says.
The prosecution said that Bubalo was born in Croatia but has a Serbian passport as well as Bosnian citizenship.
Bosnian prosecutors did not immediately respond to BIRN’s question about whether Bubalo is in Bosnia or Serbia, which does not extradite war crimes suspects.
The indictment has been sent to the Bosnian court for confirmation.
