On May 25, 2015, Lalicic was sentenced to nine years in prison for the rape and inhumane treatment of civilians in the Hrasnica area, near Sarajevo.

The Bosnian state court announced that the defense’s appeal against the verdict was partially upheld, which led the appeals chamber to reduce the sentence and confirm the rest of the verdict.

In its appeal, the defense called for an acquittal or a repeal of the verdict. The state prosecution called for the initial verdict to be upheld in its entirety.
