In a public announcement, the state court ordered Radakovic into home detention and banned him from contacting witnesses and accomplices.

“According to the same decision issued by the Bosnian state court, the proposal for custody measures against suspect Goran Pejic has been rejected due to the lack of grounds for suspicion, as a result the suspect has been released to liberty,” the announcement read.

The state court will evaluate the justification for the prohibitive measures against Radakovic every two months. If he violates any of the measures he may be ordered into custody.

Radakovic and Pejic were arrested on June 17 on suspicion of murdering five Croat civilians in the village of Tukovi in the municipality of Prijedor in mid-June 1992. Both are former members of Bosnian Serb police and military formations.

The prosecution alleges that the suspects, armed with automatic weapons with silencers, attacked the home of the Ecimovic family. Five civilians and two children were present at the time of the attack.

“They entered the house and opened fire, killing the five civilians, while the two children managed to save themselves and ran out of the house,” the state prosecution declared.
