Kostjerevac, a former member of the military police of the First Muslim Brigade in Zvornik, has been charged with the rape of a pregnant Serb woman in September and October 1992. The woman was a detainee at a building he guarded.

The state prosecution claimed that the rape and abuse the woman endured caused her to miscarry.

The indictment against Kostjerevac, who currently lives in the United States, has been filed with the Bosnian state court for confirmation.

State prosecution spokesperson Boris Grubesic said Kostjerevac was examined through the international legal aid system. He said a decision on Kostjerevac’s potential extradition would be rendered once the indictment had been confirmed.
