Serifa Krdzevic said that she fled Trnovo to Mount Igman on July 10, adding that she met the indictee for the first time two days later. As she said, she spoke to Bojadzic on July 24, asking him to assign some tasks to her. After that she began working in the “Zulfikar” Unit’s kitchen, where her husband joined her as well.

The Defence presented a document, indicating that the witness joined the “Zulfikar” Unit on that day. As she said, in the morning on her first working day in the kitchen she was tasked with preparing food boxes for Bojadzic and his driver, because they were supposed to go on a trip.

“Later on I found out that Nihad travelled to Zenica in order to visit the wounded soldiers, who were under medical treatment at a hospital in Zenica,” she said.

Although she was not able to specify the exact date when she saw the indictee again, the witness said that it happened two or three days after his trip to Zenica, when Bojadzic came to the kitchen in order to have lunch. She said that, on that same day they prepared food boxes for him as he was about to travel to Sarajevo.

Bojadzic is charged with having committed crimes against Croats, who were detained in “The Battle of Neretva” Museum in Jablanica, on July 28. Besides that, he is on trial for other crimes committed in Jablanica in 1993.

Witness Krdzevic saw the indictee again on Mount Igman at the beginning of August, when, as she said, “the kitchen” was evacuated due to combat with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS. She said that the kitchen was transferred to Donja Jablanica, where the “Zulfikar” Unit’s base was.

“Bojadzic stayed on Mount Igman,” she said.

The witness said that she remembered those dates, because those were the most difficult moments for her during the course of the war. When she said that, in 1994 she visited her children, whom she had evacuated from BiH earlier, the Trial Chamber asked her about the date of her meeting with her children. She responded by saying that it happened in late November or early December.

The witness said that she would have brought travelling tickets, which she was still keeping, with her, had she known that they would ask her about it.

Second Defence witness Esad Humo told the Court that he was in Sarajevo in the first half of August 1993 and that he stayed in the city briefly, adding that he met Bojadzic on Mount Igman upon his return.

Third Defence witness Amar Krecnic said that, in June 1993 he was on Mount Boksevica, near Jablanica, where he used to see Bojadzic. As he said, several ABiH units and a working squad from Jablanica, which consisted of civilians and prisoners, were located on Mount Boksevica.

He said that the indictee treated the prisoners in a correct manner.

The trial is due to continue on August 21.
