The Prosecutor in charge of this case could not attend the trial due to the illness of her father, and her replacement prosecutor did not have enough time to acquaint himself with the testimony of the planned witness.

“I know the category of the witness and I propose that the trial be postponed. I could not examine the witness well and without improvisation since I did not have enough time to prepare myself,” said prosecutor Dragan Corlija.

As on several earlier hearings, the Defence addressed the issue of access to the archives of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lawyer, Vasvija Vidovic, said that her investigators were not allowed access to the archives and asked the court to enable it since it was in the interest of justice.

“We ask you to order the minister to let us to our job,” said Vidovic.

Enida Hadziomerovic, presiding judge of the Trial Chamber, said that after receiving security permits there was no reason they should not be allowed into the archive.

She invited the Defence to state in its motion what activities it carried out so far, after which the court would react.

Bojadzic, former deputy commander of the Zulfikar detachment with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was charged with torture, beatings, forced labour, sexual abuse and rape committed in the summer of 1993 against civilians and members of the Croatian Defence Council held prisoners in the Battle of Neretva museum in Jablanica.

The trial was postponed for April 10.
