New Trial for Visegrad Crimes Begins Next Week

The beginning of the trial is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18. The Popovics are charged with having participated in murders, rape, forced movement, as well as unlawful detention of Bosniak population.
On that same day the Prosecution of BiH is due to present its closing statement at the trial of Edin Dzeko, who is charged with crimes against Croats in Trusina village, near Konjic, and Jablanica.
On Wednesday, March 19 Nikola Maric is due to enter his plea to the allegations that he committed persecutions, murders, torture and other inhumane acts against Bosniaks in the Prozor area.
On Monday, March 17 the parties are due to present their evidence presentation plan at a status conference in the case against Dragan Sekaric, former member of the Territorial Defence and “Osvetnik” (“Revenger”) paramilitary formation. He is charged with having committed murders, torture, rape and other inhumane acts in the Gorazde and Visegrad area.
Three State Prosecution witnesses are due to appear at the trial of Goran Saric, who is charged with genocide in Srebrenica, on Monday. On that same day a hearing will be held in order to discuss Vinko Kondic’s health condition. The Court of BiH previously discontinued the trial against him for crimes in the Kljuc area due to his illness.
A statement given by Drazen Erdemovic will be read at the trial of Aleksandar Cvetkovic, who is charged with genocide in Srebrenica. The Hague Tribunal sentenced Erdemovic to five years in prison for having participated in the execution of Srebrenica residents on Branjevo in July 1995.
On that same day the trials are due to continue in the case against Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Ivan Medic, Edib Buljubasic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic for crimes in “Dretelj” detention camp, near Capljina, Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic, who are charged with crimes in Visegrad, as well as Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian-Nicolae Vintila, who are indicted for crimes in Sarajevo.
On Wednesday the Prosecution of BiH is due to continue presenting evidence against Vitomir Rackovic, who is charged with crimes in Visegrada, Branko Vlaco, who is indicted for crimes in Sarajevo, as well as Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are on trial for genocide in Srebrenica.
On Thursday, March 20 new State Prosecution witnesses are due to be examined at the trial of Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin, who are charged with crimes on Mount Igman, as well as Indira Kameric, who is on trial for crimes in the Bosanski Brod area.
The trials of Ibro Macic for crimes in Konjic, Josip Tolic, who is charged with crimes in Odzak, as well as Vehid Subotic, who is indicted for crimes in Dusina village, Zenica municipality, are due to continue on Friday.
The retrials of Drazen Mikulic, who is charged with crimes in “Dretelj” detention camp, and Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic for crimes in Krajina continue next week as well.
