Next Week Closing Arguments at Cajnice and Prijedor Crime Trials

The presentation of closing statements at the trials of Dragomir Soldat, Velemir Djuric and Zoran Babic, who are charged with crimes in Prijedor, and Milun Kornjaca, who is charged with crimes in Cajnice, is due to be continued before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the week ahead.

Soldat, Djuric and Babic are charged with having killed Bosniak men in Carakovo village, near Prijedor. The Defence teams are due to present their closing statements on Monday, February 24.
 
On Wednesday, February 26 the Prosecution of BiH is due to continue presenting its closing statement at the trial of Milun Kornjaca, former Commander of “Plavi Orlovi” Unit, who is charged with having committed crimes in the Cajnice area in 1992.
 
Appeals against a verdict, under which Zoran Dragicevic was sentenced to 11 years in prison, will be presented before the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH on Friday, February 28.
 
He was pronounced guilty of murders, confiscation of money, detention and rape committed in Grbavica, Kovacici and Vraca neighbourhoods in Sarajevo in the period from May 1992 to December 1994.
 
On Tuesday, February 25 first Prosecution witnesses are due to be examined at the trial of Indira Kameric, who is charged with crimes in Bosanski Brod in 1992.
 
The trial of Mensur Memic, Nihad Bojadzic, Dzevad Salcin, Senad Hakalovic, Nedzad Hodzic and Zulfikar Alispago, who are charged with crimes in Trusina, Konjic municipality, continues on Monday.
 
A hearing at which a Prosecution’s custody extension motion against Nikola Maric, who is charged with crimes in Prozor, will be discussed is scheduled for Tuesday.
 
Ivan Medic, who is on trial for crimes in Dretelj, near Capljina, is due to testify in his defence on Tuesday. Medic is on trial along with Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Edib Buljubasic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic.
 
On that same day the trials are due to continue in the case against Aleksandar Cvetkovic, who is charged with genocide in Srebrenica, as well as Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic for crimes in Visegrad.
 
On Wednesday, February 26 the trials are due to continue in the case against Vitomir Rackovic, who is charged with crimes in the Visegrad area, Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic for genocide in Srebrenica, and Branko Vlaco for crimes committed in the Vogosca area.
 
New Prosecution witnesses are due to be examined at the trials of Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin, who are charged with crimes on Mount Igman, Hadzici municipality, and Nihad Bojadzic, who is indicted for crimes in Jablanica, on Thursday, February 27.
 
On that same day new witnesses will be examined at the trial of Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember for crimes in the Hadzici area. 
 
The trial of Josip Tolic, who is charged with crimes in Odzak and Bosanski Brod, is due to continue on Thursday, while the continuation of the trials of Vehid Subotic, who is charged with crimes in Dusina, near Zenica, Ibro Macic, who is indicted for crimes in Konjic, and Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian Nicolae Vintila, who are charged with crimes in Sarajevo, is scheduled for Friday.
 
On that same day the trial is due to continue in the case against Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic, Kahro Vejzovic and Osman Gogic, who are charged with crimes in the Kladanj area. 
 
In the week ahead the retrials are due to continue in the case against Drazen Mikulic, who is charged with crimes in Dretelj detention camp, and Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic, who are indicted for crimes in Krajina.
