“Chief Prosecutor Goran Salihovic considered the resignation letter, spoke to Prosecutor Budimir and fulfilled her request by accepting her resignation,” said Boris Grubesic, Spokesperson of the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH.

The Prosecution did not want to speak about the reasons for Vesna Budimir’s resignation.

Gordana Tadic was appointed a prosecutor with the Prosecution of BiH in November 2013.

Vesna Budimir will continue performing the functions of prosecutor and Deputy Chief Prosecutor, to which she was appointed by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, HJPC.

This institution explains that Budimir resigned from the position of Manager of the Special Section and Co-ordinator of activities related to implementation of the State Strategy for Processing of War Crimes on behalf of the Prosecution of BiH and that she also informed the HJPC President in BiH, who performs the function of Chairman of the Supervisory Body for monitoring the implementation of the State Strategy.
