Verdict for Kalinovik Crimes Next Week

In the coming week the Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is due to pronounce a verdict against four former policemen from Kalinovic, who are charged with having unlawfully detained Bosniaks in the summer of 1992.

The pronouncement of a verdict against Milan Peric, Spasoje Doder, Predrag Terzic and Aleksandar Cerovina, former members of police from Kalinovik, is due to take place on Tuesday, November 12. Under a first instance verdict pronounced by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in March 2012, which was quashed by the Appellate Chamber later on, they were acquitted of charges.

The trial of Aleksandar Cvetkovic, former member of the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad of the Republika Srpska Army, who is charged with genocide in Srebrenica, is due to begin with the reading of the indictment and presentation of introductory statement by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday. On that same day the State Prosecution is due to present its closing statement at the trial of Fikret Planincic, Sead Menzil, Rasim Lisancic and Mirsad Vatrac, former members of the Territorial Defence in Kotor-Varos, who are charged with crimes in Serdari village.

On Thursday, November 14 the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Defence will present their closing statements at the trial of Zoran Milic, who is charged with crimes in Busovaca.

A status conference related to the retrial against Goran and Zoran Damjanovic, who were sentenced for war crimes, under a second instance verdict, is due to be held on Friday, November 15. Last month the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina terminated the serving of their sentences, because the European Court for Human Rights determined that the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina was applied wrongly.

On Tuesday the trials are due to continue in the case against Edin Dzeko, who is charged with crimes in Trusina and Jablanica, Savo Babic for crimes in Bratunac, Najdan Mladjenovic and Savo Zivkovic, who are on trial for crimes in Bratunac, Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic, who are indicted for crimes in Visegrad, as well as Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Edib Buljubasic, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic, who are charged with crimes in Dretelj.

On Monday, November 11 the Defence is due to continue presenting evidence at the trials of Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Senad Hakalovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Nihad Bojadzic and Zulfikar Alispago, who are charged with crimes in Trusina, as well as Dragomir Soldat, Velemir Djuric and Zoran Babic for crimes in Carakovo.

On Wednesday, November 13 new State Prosecution evidence is due to be presented at the trials of Branko Vlaco, who is charged with crimes in Vogosca, Vehid Subotic, who is charged with crimes in Dusina, Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian Nicolae Vintila, who are indicted for crimes in Sarajevo, as well as Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are on trial for genocide in Srebrenica.

Veselko Raguz and Ivo Raguz, who are on trial for crimes in Stolac, Milun Kornjaca, who is charged with crimes in Cajnice, and Zemir Kovacevic, who is indicted for crimes in Bosanski Brod, are due to appear before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on that same day.

The trial of Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember, who are charged with crimes in the Hadzici area, as well as the trials of Zeljko Jukic for crimes in Prozor, and Nihad Bojadzic, who is charged with crimes in Jablanica, are due to continue on Thursday.

On Friday, November 15 new Prosecution witnesses are due to be examined at the trials of Ibro Macic, who is charged with crimes in Blace village, near Konjic, and Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic, Kahro Vejzovic and Osman Gogic, who are charged with crimes in Kladanj.
