Attorney Nermin Vila confirmed that Mehmedovic was at the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, BIRN has found out through unofficial sources that Mehmedovic was examined about the role of Goran Zubac, Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA, in the Sarajevo area during the war.

As previously said by Vila, in a criminal report filed with the Federal Police Administration, FUP, Mehmedovic mentioned that he had found out that Zubac had killed a Bosniak civilian in Ilidza in 1992.

Mehmedovic was due to give a statement against Zubac concerning this matter to Prosecutor Vesna Ilic on July 19. However, this did not happen, because SIPA members arrested him due to a suspicion that he committed crimes against Serbs in Tesanj during 1992 and 1993.

On that day the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina said that it had not issued a warrant for Mehmedovic’s arrest. He was released to liberty following the examination.
