Stevan Bacic said that the village of Sijekovac was attacked on March 26, 1992, at around 17.00 hours by members of the Intervention Squad “in co-operation with units from Slavonski Brod in Croatia.”

In his depositions given to the police in Doboj and Brod, Bacic named the Serbs who were killed and whose houses were set on fire. Then, according to Bacic, the army entered Donja Mocila, where he lived.

Describing events in his village, Bacic said that after the search, they were robbed, their houses set on fire and some people killed. Bacic did not mention in his deposition that he saw Kovacevic in Donja Mocila.

The indictment charges Kovacevic, as a member of the Intervention Squad of the First Bosanski Brod Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, with participating in the attack and murder of Serb civilians in Sijekovac.

Kovacevic is charged together with others, of taking 15 people and four children from their houses, some of whom were killed.
The second witness Smajo Havic, in his deposition talked of the “conflict” in Sijekovac, but could not say with certainty which people from Sijekovac participated in it.

The trial was scheduled to resume August 21.
