During the meeting AIS representatives agreed that meetings with representatives of the State Court and Prosecution should be convened in the coming period in order to improve the collaboration and continue the joint work that would serve as a good example of openness of judicial institutions.
Besides that, the meeting participants agreed on a visit of AIS representatives to Bihac, where the cantonal judicial institutions and media would meet on October 13 with the aim of solving the problems they face in their work.
Earlier this year AIS held meetings in Tuzla and Mostar. Following the meeting in Bihac, judiciary and the media will meet in Sarajevo too.
The meeting participants named the AIS members, who would travel to Bihac, and listed the problems they would discuss with the meeting participants.
It was agreed that, besides representatives of the media and judicial institutions, attorneys, who are involved in cases processed before the Cantonal Court in Bihac, and representatives of the OSCE office in Bihac would attend the meeting.
Finally, the AIS meeting participants discussed the continuation of the project implemented in collaboration with BIRN BiH, dealing with organization of study trips to the Hague, where journalists have a chance to familiarize themselves with the work done by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY.
In June this year BIRN BiH organized a visit to ICTY for 13 journalists with support from the Governments of Norway and Switzerland and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, OSCE in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representatives of the Tribunal and Prosecution presented the functioning of the Tribunal from all angles to the journalists, who are also members of the Association of Reporters from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, AIS.
The AIS meeting participants discussed a possibility of continuing the project activities and the importance of such study tour for journalists and their work.
