Enes Handzic, Nisvet Gasal, Musajb Kukavica and Senad Dautovic are charged with crimes committed against Bosnian Croats who were detained in various buildings in the Bugojno area during the course of 1993 and 1994.
The indictment alleges that Gasal and Kukavica were responsible for the operation of the Iskra detention camp. Handzic, former Assistant Commander for Security with the 307th Brigade of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, and Dautovic, former member of the joint ABiH Command for the Bugojno area, are charged with participation in the capture of civilians in Bugojno and drawing up plans for the capture.
The indictment alleges that about 300 Bosnian Croat men were detained in the Iskra stadium detention camp. The men were allegedly taken to other locations where they performed forced labour and were used as human shields, tortured, beaten up and taken for questioning.
The Prosecution alleges that 22 people who were taken from the detention camp for questioning never came back and have been missing since that time.
The trial of the indictees began in February 2008.
The trial has been postponed until Wednesday, October 6, when three Defence witnesses will be examined. E.M.
